Yvette Stroud

December 23, 1947 — July 22, 2021

Bracebridge

Yvette passed away peacefully at home in Bracebridge on July 22, 2021, in the arms of her beloved husband Ken, son Derek, and sister Imelda. Born on the island of St. Vincent and raised in Toronto.  Loving wife of Ken and adoring mother of Derek Marshall (Rebecca) of Squamish, BC.  Cherished gran to their boys Marley and Solomon. Much loved sister of Imelda Scott (Ben) of Toronto, and Barbara Corbin of Barbados. Loving aunt of Rick Scott (Laurie, children Jennifer and Ryan) and Kim Foster (daughter Rachel) of Toronto, Delores (Malcolm, daughter Christina and late son Christopher) of Barbados, and Sondra (Darius, daughters Rochelle and Leah) of Trinidad.  Loving cousin of Deanna Darmaga (Wally, son Rod) of Toronto, as well as many other family members in Canada, the US, Barbados, Trinidad, and New Zealand. Dear sister-in-law of Larry Stroud (Dave) of Toronto.  Dear stepmom to Jill Hogan (Peter) of Mississauga; step-grandma to their children Jack and Ben. Stepmom to Max Stroud, Trisha; step-grandma to their daughter Alisha, of Manitoba.

Yvette was a lady of elegance and grace who enjoyed life to the fullest.  She had a keen sense of style, a flair for decorating and a great appreciation for fashion.  She loved her gardens and flowers, and was a wonderful cook.  Yvette enjoyed her homes and together with Ken created a welcoming environment shared with family and friends.  Their doors were always open, whether hosting holiday dinners, spending relaxing days on the dock in Bracebridge, or lounging by the pool in Venice Island, Florida.

Yvette was dedicated to her beloved dogs - two huskies (Chinook and Tara, both deceased) and their white shepherd (Koda), who were rescues from the Muskoka Animal Centre. She provided kindness and constant loving care to each of her cherished four-legged friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Yvette’s charity of choice, the OSPCA – Muskoka Animal Centre, would be greatly appreciated and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
