Wendy Turner

1965 — January 1, 2022

Wendy Elizabeth Turner (Buddin), born May 2, 1965, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022, after a heroic battle with breast cancer. Wendy was the beloved daughter of Joan Horsfall (Doug), treasured sister to Dwayne Brownlee (Mindy) and Timothy Buddin (Theresa), and loving mother to Zachary and Alexandrina Pinheiro. She will be greatly missed by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Wendy loved to travel and got to travel to many places throughout her years. She was able to live her dream of purchasing a home down south, where she hoped to spend her winters. As much as she loved Muskoka in the summer, during the winter she loved to be anywhere warm. While down south, Wendy would also dive as much as she could and loved to do it with her son Zachary. Her last dive was recent, in October 2021 on a week-long dive boat trip in Belize.

An animal lover, Wendy had many animals throughout her years such as a parrot, budgies, dogs big and small, cats, roosters, chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. She pulled over many times to help the snapping turtles and geese cross the road, stopping all traffic as she did. She leaves behind Halo, a devoted border collie, who will be loved deeply by her children.

Everyone who knew Wendy knew her as a caring and compassionate woman, who would do anything for anyone. Her smile lit up a room and she glowed with positivity to the end, never giving up hope. She believed fiercely in God and trusted that he would always take care of her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wendy's honour to Hospice Muskoka Andy's House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held by the family in the summer, to be announced at a later date.
