It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Pauline Perrier (née Paquin), on Friday, December 30, 2022, in her 88th year. Pauline passed away peacefully at home in Bracebridge with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of 62 years to Ron, who passed away in March 2022. Cherished mother of Carole (Stephen McArthur), Marc (Juli), and Martin (Betty MacDonald), and cherished grandmother of Adrien (Michelle McDonald), Michelle (Conor Fullan), Patrick (Charmaine Pereira), Mathieu, Elise, and Jocelyne. Beloved great-grandmother to Brighton. Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her sister Edith Lacasse (Donat), her brother Ernel Paquin (Idèle), her brother-in-law Lloyd Perrier (Mandy), and her sister-in-law Christina Breault. Pauline was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters Huguette, Denis, Jean-Guy, Léopold, Gilles, and Bibiane.

Pauline was from Belleterre, Quebec, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Perrier. After Pauline graduated from teachers’ college in Northern Quebec and became a grade-school teacher, she and Ron settled in Elliot Lake, Ontario, where they started their family. Later they lived in New Liskeard and Mississauga, where Pauline worked as a supply teacher and a special needs aide in French-language schools. Pauline and Ron retired early in Bracebridge, travelling between town and their beloved ‘Turtle Island’ cottage on Lake Muskoka. Pauline loved nothing more than entertaining family and friends at their cottage or their house, where she would cook and bake for a house full of guests. Golf and curling were Pauline’s other passions, and she and Ron were long-time members of the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club. Pauline enjoyed travels to Europe on several occasions, including France and Italy with Ron and their adult children.

A special thanks to Dr. Lisa Tsugios for her professional and caring help. A special thanks also to Pauline’s professional team of caregivers, nurses, and therapists: Cindy, Tracy, Wendy, Treena, Caryn, Kelly, Jayme, Heidi, the kind team at the VON Adult Day Program, and the dedicated staff of the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka.

In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Pauline, we ask that you please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, https://alzheimer.ca/en/on or to the charity of your choosing. Donations may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
