John "Jack" Skinner

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dr. John “Jack” William Skinner, on Monday, August 16, 2021, at West Parry Sound Hospital.

Born on March 11, 1921, in Washington, DC. Jack is survived by his daughter Susan Elizabeth Skinner. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Dalley Skinner, and their son John David Skinner.

Jack’s long career as a professor of economics started at George Washington University, in Washington, and finished as the founder of the economics department at the University of Guelph. Jack enjoyed his many years in Rosseau where he and Susan lived.

Susan invites family and friends to gather for a visitation, at 10am on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Church of the Redeemer, in Rosseau Ontario. A Celebration of Jack’s Life to begin at 11am, with a reception to follow. Interment will be held at a later date.

Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice and may be arranged though Reynolds funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be shared at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
