Howard "Howie" Lusk

LUSK, Howard Norman “Howie” – Passed away peacefully, on Friday, September 17, 2021, with his niece Karen and nephew Mark by his side, at The Pines Long Term Care Home. He was in his 88th year. Howard was a long-time resident of The Pines, where he resided, going on 30 years. He was the loving brother of 13 siblings. Cherished uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and his great nephews. Beloved son of the late Charles and Mabel Lusk. Predeceased by 10 of his brother and sisters. He will be deeply missed by his friends and community at The Pines.

Kenneth, Howard’s brother, and his wife Hazel, looked after Howard for many years with great care and love. He was also taken under wing by his sister, Nellie, before he moved into The Pines Long Term Care Home. Even once Howard moved into The Pines, Nellie still bossed him around. He would see her coming and run the other way. With The Pines, Howard went on lots of outings with his friends. He looked forward to boat cruises in Orillia every summer, special trips to Walmart, and McDonalds - he loved his french fries and pop. When 3:00 o’clock Happy Hour rolled around, Howard always got his plain potato chips and a glass of coke. He will be remembered wearing a pair of blue jeans, plaid flannel shirt, and carrying his shaver.

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at The Pines Long Term Care Home. You were all comforting, and helpful, as Howard was family, that was his home for 30 years. A very special thank you to Kim Gibbs, as she worked with Howard for 20 years and kept him in line. And thank you to Dr. Mittal, for your time and care.

A Graveside Service will be held at Foot’s Bay Cemetery, Foot’s Bay, on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 1pm. All are welcome to join, p lease RSVP below.
