Gloria Redner

September 7, 1949 — December 27, 2021

REDNER, Gloria Jean – Passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Trillium Manor, in Orillia. She was in her 73rd year. Gloria was the cherished wife and best friend of Val, for 28 years. Beloved mother of Dwight Russon; and stepmother of Sam Redner (Louisa Fenner), Daniel Redner (Miranda), Rhonda Libby (Peter Malek), and Sarah Laferriere (Carl). Loving grandmother of Kaitlen Redner (Will Ludowski), Cameron Tretheway & Molly Redner, Gavin, Erica & Andrew Libby, Patrick Malek, Noah, Jonah, & Eli Laferriere. Dear sister of Keith Ryan (Linda), Terry Ryan (Mona), and Colleen Morrison (Gordie). Sister-in-law of Joan Cooper (Basel), the late Bernice (late Claude), and the late Glenda (late Garf). Gloria will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

“Gloria was the love of my life. She was my sweetheart, my partner in everything I did. In 1997, we became officers with the Salvation Army. For Gloria and I, that was life at it’s best. Our first appointment was in Kenora, Ontario. I remember driving into town on October 26. At 7:30, we stopped at the Kenora Stop. Stop, play, and prayed and said ‘God, this is where the army placed us so obviously this is where you want us to be. So, keep us here ‘til we don’t make a difference.’ We were there 9 years until we moved to Calgary where Gloria was coordinating at the young offenders’ centre. She shone at that appointment working with youth. Then it was off to Kingston, where we got involved with the community and the Ministry of Rideau Heights Community Church. Then to North Bay for another great appointment. Then to Jackson’s Point until retirement in June 2018. Gloria loved people; her passion was to tell them about Jesus. She would talk to everyone and pray for anybody no matter where they were. As a wife, she was amazing. She loved me, listened to me and always wanted the best for me. I consider myself to be a blessed man because of our love for each other.”

In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.

In memory, donations may be made to The Salvation Army South Muskoka Ministries in Bracebridge, or the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
