Donald Carr

October 27, 1940 — August 27, 2022

Bracebridge

Donald Carr passed away peacefully at Andy's House in Port Carling on August 27, 2022, surrounded by his family. Donald was a beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, Grampy, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and friend.

He will be forever loved and cherished by his wife Marilyn (Peggy) (nee Osborne) of 56 years, his sons Randy, Ron (Beth), and daughter Debra (Mike), and his grandchildren Stephanie, George, Zachary, Kaiden, Bryden and Brynnly, whom he loved dearly.

Donald was predeceased by his parents Charles and Grace (nee McDowell) Carr,

and his siblings Gordon, Audrey (John), Betty, Vern, and Deanna (John). He will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws Joan, Carl and Joan, Cynthia, and Carolyn as well as lifelong family friends Shirley and Jim, and Ken. He will be missed dearly by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Donald was a very sweet, caring, and kind-hearted soul. He enjoyed helping others any way he could. He was always gentlemanly and quiet mannered. His witty phrases always brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

Donald thoroughly enjoyed family get-togethers and visits with friends that often included boating, camping, swimming, water skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, long walks, watching baseball and hockey, playing cards and board games. Sunday drives and long scenic road trips were regular routines that often included hiking trails, scenic boat tours, lookout towers, watching for wildlife, and stopping by a lake to have a picnic.

Donald was a dedicated and passionate electrician. He took pride in his work and any other task that he embraced. His co-workers and peers often remarked how talented he was. Some of his work over the years involved travel as far away as Moosonee where he worked on hospitals, schools and other government facilities. He also established and maintained his own company, Carr Electric, until he retired.

Special appreciations go to all of the physicians, nurses, PSWs, extended family and friends for all of the love, care and support given to Donald and his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. The family wishes any donations be made to Andy's House Hospice in Port Carling or a charity of your choice.
