Dennis Michael McKay

February 23, 1978 ~ October 26, 2021 (age 43)

Dennis left us suddenly on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 while out on the open road at the young age of 43.

Anyone who knew Dennis, knew him for his quick wit, sarcastic humour and mischievous smile. Someone you could spend hours effortlessly talking to. He was the ‘give you the shirt off his back’ type of guy’. Always up to grab a coffee. He was a devoted husband and hero to his son.

Not one to sit around, he was always on the go. Dedicated to his industry and family. When Dennis was home you could find him washing and polishing his dream truck, spending time with his family on adventures and camping or working away on the property. He had a passion for trucks, racing, Harleys, and the endless love for his second home of Wisconsin.

He was a devoted truck driver for 23 years and was a true professional that shined in the industry (not just his truck). Seven years ago, he took a leap of faith and became an owner/operator and bought his own truck. A few years later, he was able to purchase his ‘goal truck’ and him and his son spent countless of hours making it both of their dream. Together they attended many truck shows and travelled all over North America; Dennis adored his co-pilot.

As he would always say; “Good things come to those who work their ass off.”

Dennis leaves behind his wife and best friend, Kristina McKay. Loving father and hero to his son Dillon McKay. Dennis also leaves behind many close friends he considered family, cherished, and held close to his heart. Survived by his parents, John and Brenda McKay and sister Shannon Lipsett. Beloved son-in-law to Patricia Soorsk, and long-time friend and second mom, Marilyn Fanetti. Dennis also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held in the spring.
