Alan Reville

May 16, 1932 — May 10, 2021

Bracebridge

Alan Leishman Reville passed away May 10th, 2021 at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. Alan’s family includes his wife Queenie, her sisters the late Ann, Eileen, and Wilma, his children Bruce (Arlene), Brock (Wendy), Lori (Shawn), and Barry (Debbie), his seven grandchildren Jade, Jordan, Myles, Jasmin, Margo, Maia, and Zoë, and great-granddaughter Frances Ann.

Alan was born, in Montreal, to Helen and Albert Reville. He was the youngest of four and has been predeceased by his siblings Jean, Irene, and Fred.

He met his wife Queenie Norman after moving to the Lakeshore. They were wed in 1956 and lived in Valois, Pointe-Claire. In 1970, they got in the car with their four children and left Québec due to the FLQ crisis.

The family was heading out to Alberta, when Queenie’s sister asked them to run Pinelands Resort for the summer. Alan and Queenie loved Muskoka and decided to stay. The family fell in love with the lodge and continued to run it for the next 30 years. Staff and guests will remember Alan for being a jack-of-all-trades as a baker, night watchman, maintenance man, boat driver, carpenter, painter, plumber, and official ice cream taster.

Alan retired at 68, traveled the continents with Queenie, and continued to tell stories of their time at the lodge to everyone they met.

A private funeral was held at Reynolds funeral home. Donations in Alan’s memory may be made to the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital or to Rotary Club Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes (rotaryclubbml@gmail.com) and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home. Messages of condolences and memories may be shared at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
