William Charles McNabb

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Charles McNabb on June 20, 2025, just shy of his 51st wedding anniversary. Bill passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised on a farm on South Monck Drive, Bill carried a deep connection to his roots. He eventually settled on a portion of that cherished family land, where on September 7, 1974, he married his beloved wife, Betty Ann (nee Jackson). Together, they built a life and raised their two children on that very land.

Bill began his career in construction alongside his brother, Bob, before transitioning to a respected role as a Building Inspector for the Township of Muskoka Lakes. He was known for his integrity and was a highly regarded figure within both the Municipality and the broader Muskoka Lakes construction community.

Beyond his professional life, Bill's true passions lay with his family, golf, and woodworking. He was a devoted father, whether it was coaching early morning hockey games with Mike at the Bracebridge arena or traveling across Canada to support Tracey's synchronized skating endeavors. Bill's dedication to his children's sports blossomed into an enthusiastic role as "Grandpa" who was always eager to cheer on Olivia, Meghan, Zoe, and Hudson from the stands.

When he wasn't supporting his grandchildren, Bill could often be found at Muskoka Highlands, enjoying a round of golf. He cherished his time on the course and the lively post-game discussions with friends, recounting soaring drives and frustrating putts. A proud member of the "Poverty Bay Gang," Bill looked forward to their "Beach Sundays," which will undoubtedly miss his presence. Many evenings were filled with laughter and camaraderie with his regular card and golf group. When relaxing at home Bill could be found watching the Toronto Blue Jays, reading a book or feeding peanuts to his favorite canine companions.

Bill will be profoundly missed by his loving wife, Betty Ann McNabb; his children, Mike McNabb (Jodie) and Tracey Ordanis (Chris); and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Meghan McNabb, Zoe and Hudson Ordanis.

He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Moffat, and his brothers, Bob McNabb (Legh) and Ron McNabb (Wilma). Bill will be fondly remembered by Barb and Rob Gibbs, and Brad and Karen Jackson, along with his 14 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Charles Peter and Audrey Marie as well as his brother-in-law Paul (Marilyn).

Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, a devout father, a proud grandfather, an avid golfer, a master of woodworking, and an all-around good human. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Muskoka Highlands Golf Links, 1036 South Monck Drive, Bracebridge, from 1-4pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
