Walter Ruttan

It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Ruttan announce his passing. Walter passed away peacefully with family by his side at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Devoted husband to Susan for 63 years. Walter taught us all what it truly means to love someone unconditionally and with all your heart, even if you drive each other nuts at times. Loving father to Jane (Thom d.), Beverly (Bill), Walter (Tammy), and David (Wendy). Grandpa and partner-in-crime to Mellissa (Derek), Nicole (Katlin), Michelle, Alicia (Phil), Levi, Kurtis (Emma), Austin, Blake, Hunter, Jorja, Matt, Stephen (Kendra). The best great grandpa “Grandpop” ever to Bryer, Mason, Bryce, Paisley, Sawyer, Chase, and Zayden. Adopted "Poppa" to Maggie and Roberta. Walter will also be missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, a well as extended family and friends.

We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and that the many lessons he taught us will not be forgotten.

Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again. Love you Pop.

Visitation will take place at Reynolds Funeral Home Friday, September 2, 2022, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, 3, 2022, at the Langford Cemetery in Bracebridge.
