In Loving Memory of Ted Mieske ("Taxi Ted")

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Mieske, also known as "Taxi Ted," who passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Ted is now reunited with his parents, Norma Evans and Harry Mieske, as well as his brothers, Jim and Jack Mieske.

His memory and his spirit of kindness will be carried on by his wife, Starr Mieske; his children, Jason Mieske, John ("JD") Mieske (and wife Danielle Mieske) and Brandi Mieske; and his surviving siblings, Sharon Frick (and husband Bert) and Randy Mieske (and wife Cathy). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sally Mieske.

Ted was the proud and loving grandfather to Mickenzie Mieske, Wulf Mieske, Hendrix Mieske, and Phoenix Mieske. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their uncle’s outgoing and helpful spirit.

Ted’s wish was never for people to mourn with sadness, but to be remembered for the best of times. He was a man of the "good times," and in his honor, the family asks that you remember him by sharing a story, lending a hand to a neighbour, and raising a glass to a life well-lived.

Information regarding a celebration of life will be shared with the community he loved so dearly at a later date.
