Terrence Johnson

July 20, 1943 — June 10, 2023

Bracebridge

Terrence "Terry" Harold Johnson passed away on June 9, 2023, in Bracebridge, Ontario, at the age of 79. Terry was born on July 20, 1943, in Toronto, Ontario, and was a true Canadian through and through.

Terry was a man of many talents. He worked for years at McDonnell Douglas in quality control, ensuring that Canadian airplanes were top-notch. He also loved spending time in nature, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling (until his knees gave out). Terry was a doting pet parent to Lucky and Max (and pet rescuer to Hoover). He loved to host friends and family.  He loved to play cards and, being a Johnson, he loved to win. But above all, Terry was a generous man who would lend you anything, from tools to boat parts to his well water.

Terry graduated from Pottageville Public School and Aurora and King City High Schools.  He loved camping in Ontario in his Taylor Coach.

Terry was survived by his wife Mary Ann Johnson (Munce), his sisters Shirley, Sylvia, Beverley, and Ruth, and a whopping 50+ nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who all thought he was the best uncle ever. Terry was preceded by his parents, William and Edna Johnson, and his brothers Raymond and Allen Johnson.

We'll be holding two services to celebrate Terry's life.

The first one will be on Friday, June 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Fraserburg United Church in Bracebridge.

The second will be Saturday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Kettleby Cemetery, 631 Kettleby Road, King

Graveside Service followed by a service and refreshments at

2:30 p.m. Schomberg Community Centre, 325 Main Street, Schomberg

In lieu of flowers, Terry's family asks that you donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the SPCA. Terry loved animals, and we're sure that he'd be happy to know that his memory is helping them.

Rest in peace, Terry. We'll make sure to keep your legacy alive by telling your jokes and quips for generations to come.
