Terence Douglas passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, 5th March at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
Terry was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1936, and from an early age had a passion for travel. He did many of his earlier adventures with his wonderful brother Geoff who he adored.
In his later years, he would frequently reminisce on the wonderful adventures he had around the world, from working in the logging camps in British Columbia, a fitness instructor in South Africa and travelling around the world working on cruise ships. It was on a cruise ship where he met Dorothy who he was married to for 49 years. She too loved to travel and they enjoyed many adventures together including 13 trips to his beloved Tenerife.
Terry and Dorothy lived in Bolton, England many years and he worked at a number of sports complexes as an instructor. He always spoke fondly of the people of Bolton for their friendliness and good humor.
They later moved to Canada to be closer to their family Elizabeth, Martin, Rachel and Hannah…. and not to forget Cooper!
Fitness and exercise was another passion he had throughout his life, he always kept himself in good shape with weight training, cycling and especially swimming.
Terry was part of a loving family and will be missed by his wife Dorothy, daughter Elizabeth, Martin and the whole family.
