Steven John Wrightman

Passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 63, at Andy’s House in Port Carling, with his beloved wife by his side after a brief battle with cancer.

Cherished husband of Trudy (née Nye-Burleigh). Treasured father of Sarah (Phil), David (Natasha), Alexander (Antonia), Rebekah, and Christopher. Proud Papa to Poppy, Henning, Nohlan, Sam, Myles, and River. Loving honorary father to Jonathan English, David Russell, and Maia Lepingwell-Tardieu. Dear brother of Rob (Marilyn) and Lorie (Ian). Fond uncle of Amanda (Benjamin), Kyle (Amanda), and Mark (Hannah). Son of Katherine (née King) and the late Ronald Wrightman.

Born in Newmarket and raised in Haliburton, Steve later made his home in Bracebridge. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and optimistic soul with a quiet nature and a self-professed “nerd.” A proud member of the Muskoka Shrine Club and Minden Masonic Lodge, Steve also held a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Karate and shared his passion as an instructor.

Steve loved to travel, especially to the Bahamas, Hawaii, and Barbados. He filled his life with family and friends, good conversations, history, reading, and the occasional spirited debate. At home, he cherished time with his kitty, “Boo.”

He was a valued and dedicated member of the True North Log Homes team.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, and Andy’s House for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Dr. Shaniece Walker for her advocacy and support during this difficult journey.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, with memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Funeral Home. A Masonic service will begin at 12pm, immediately followed by the Memorial Service. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 161, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In memory of Steve, donations may be made to Andy’s House, the Muskoka Shrine Club, or the OSPCA Muskoka.
