We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Ryan Jeremy Smith, on April 8, 2021. He lived in Toronto and formerly resided near Port Carling, Ontario. Ryan leaves behind his parents Ken Smith (Bertha), Suzanne Toussaint (Charles) and his brothers; Nathaniel (Jen), Myles, and Trevor (Kristy-Lynn) Smith; his beautiful nieces; Haidyn, London and Adalynn Smith. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunt Dianne Booker (Marcel Turkiewicz), cousins Bill and Davey Booker, Bruce (Angie) Smith, Donna and Dave Smith; and also, by his extended family, Bojan Stoiljovic, Anna Chamberlain and John Keane.
Ryan’s smile and bubbly personality would light any room he walked into! He loved to be around his family and friends. Ryan reached out to others in kindness to help them in their struggles and put joy into their lives.
Ryan was a dedicated and much loved employee with the John Hancock Financial Services in Toronto. We thank all of his Manulife friends who played such a special part in his life.
Ryan cherished and took pride in his Toronto condo which he worked so hard for. He was a city boy at heart, but always loved coming home to his family roots in Muskoka. Ryan also took pride in helping people in shelters, building with Homes for Humanity, playing the piano with his mother at church, helping with the family green house business, working on the family farm and helping his mother sell flowers at the Bracebridge Farmer’s Market.
Ryan was very passionate about his cooking and baking skills, making treats that no one could resist! He always loved playing music and teaching piano to his special friend Bojan, and indulging in creative writing.
Working out at the gym was “must” after work, along with extensive travelling with his friends and going on winery tours in the Niagara Region. Talking about and studying various wines with the Wine Club was a delight of his along with going out to experience food from different countries. All these experiences and wonders were so colourfully recorded with explicit detail in the many journals that he kept. And at the end of the day, reading and watching movies wrapped up his nights.
Ryan, we love you so dearly and know that you will always be with us in spirit.
Dear God, please give Ryan the wings of an Angel, and keep him safe and at peace in Heaven.
