Ross Ambrose Blanchard

With great sadness, the family announce Ross Ambrose Blanchard passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2024, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of the late Yvonne Blanchard (1999) and caring partner to Lorna Walkling. Treasured father of daughters Debbi Connick, Wendy Bertin (Mark) and son Jason Blanchard (Jenny). Dear grandfather to Kelsey, Jacob, Clayton, Deken, Maggie, and Allie. He leaves behind siblings Terry Blanchard (Lynda) and Roly Blanchard (Mary). Loved son to the late Ambrose and Velma (Forth) Blanchard.

Ross lived and worked in Bracebridge for the majority of his life. After his retirement from Bracebridge Hydro, he spent most of his time at the cottage in Temagami enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Ross got his love of music from his mother, and it remained an important part of his life right until the very end. He particularly enjoyed his time spent performing with the Foggy Falkenburg Boys, co-hosting the Country North music festival and travelling to many Bluegrass Festivals.

Ross’ last request was to throw a party in his honour. We look forward to seeing his friends, family, fellow musicians, and lovers of good music at the Milford Bay Community Center on Saturday, January 27^th from 1 until 4pm. Cremation has been arranged. His final resting place will be Island 86.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at SMMH. Their compassionate care made all the difference.
