Roderick “Ed” Sutherland boarded the “Heaven Express” Locomotive on Sunday, November 10th, 2019. Ed’s departure was sudden but peaceful. Ed was an avid model railroad enthusiast for most of his life and Sheila, his wife of 26 years supported his passion and was always there for the ride. They were both active members of the Knox Presbyterian Church and being able to offer a helping hand or share encouragement to their fellow members brought them much joy Ed retired from the Bell Telephone Company and was a long-time member of the Telephone Pioneers. Poppa “Choo Choo” will be missed by his sons; Rod and Lynn Sutherland, their children; Skeet and Kate, Kipp and Kristen, Jackie and Craig and their families; Allan and Sharon Hill and their children. His daughters; Julie and Reg Wilson; Allison and Scott Woolhead and their families, his brother Charles Sutherland and family, sister June Hatchard and family and brother-in-law, Harold & Sheila Johnson and their families. A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 120 Taylor Road in Bracebridge on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 with a service beginning at 11:00.
