Richard (Paul) Moore
Richard (Paul) Moore was born on October 17, 1950, in Bracebridge, Ontario, and lived a life defined by hard work, quiet pride, and deep devotion to his family. He was 75 years old.
Paul was the beloved husband of Karen Moore, whom he married on July 1, 1972. Their marriage was a true partnership built on love, loyalty, and shared life experiences. Karen predeceased Paul on May 8, 2021, and he carried her memory with him always.
A devoted father, Paul was deeply proud of his three daughters: Kelly (Phil), Tracey (Mark), and Megan (Rob). His joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren Riley, Noah, Morgan, Hayden, Branden, and Evan, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Paul was also a cherished member of a large and close-knit extended family. He was the eighth of ten children, growing up surrounded by brothers and sisters who shaped his early life and values. He is survived by his siblings Bernie, Suzanne, David, Janice, and Terry, and was predeceased by Barbara, Cynthia, George, and Peggy. Paul shared meaningful relationships with his siblings and their spouses and was especially proud of his many nieces and nephews, following their lives with interest and pride.
Paul spent his working life as a self-employed concrete finisher, a trade that suited his strong work ethic, skill, and pride in doing things right.
Beyond work, Paul found meaning and fellowship through his involvement with the Freemasons, having been a member since 2005, and later as a Shriner. These commitments reflected his values of service, brotherhood, and giving back to others.
Some of Paul’s happiest moments were spent outdoors - especially on the river, where he loved fishing and boating or simply just sitting on the dock with a cold beer. These simple pleasures brought him peace and were often shared with those he loved most.
Paul will be remembered as a hard-working, proud man, whose greatest love was his family.
The family extends their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Andy’s House Hospice and to Dr. Tina Kappos for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during Paul’s illness and final days.
Visitation will take place at the Reynolds Funeral Home, on Sunday, January 11, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m at St. Thomas Anglican Church followed by a reception at Inn at the Falls.
