It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Penelope Whitehead of Windsor, on October 27, 2020 at the age of 67. Affectionately known as Penny, she passed suddenly and unexpectedly with family members at her side at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. Sadly, leaving her loving family behind, Penny is survived by her children Bruce Whitehead (Rolande) of North Bay, Tammy Whitehead (Skeeter) of Bracebridge, Joe Whitehead (Sarah) of North Bay. Brother, Daune “Dan” (Anne) of Bancroft, Sister, Sally Whitehead of Windsor. Grandchildren, Amanda, Gregory, Ashley, Alyssa, Olivia, Jaxon. She has been welcomed to her heavenly home, alongside her parents, Lorne Whitehead and Evelyn (Bell), as well as her brothers, Lonnie and Dwight. Penny spent the last few months in and out of the hospital. Many staff expressed how sweet she was during her stay before her move to Muskoka to continue her retirement closer to her children. While her stays were short, her dry humor was lauded by many of her caregivers, nurses, and visiting family. Penny loved her long conversations on the phone with her family and friends. Her laugh was contagious. She traveled and saw many beautiful places in the world. Penny was so proud of her children and grandchildren. They filled her heart with joy. She loved her cat Olaf and will miss spoiling him with toys and treats.
A Celebration of Penelope's Life will take place in the spring.
