Olavi Melvin Sikola

Olavi Melvin Sikola- Passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 91, with family by his side.

He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife and love of his life Ida Sikola, his brother Karl Sikola, and his sister Taimi Skalin.

Dearly missed by his sister Mamie Polawski (Heinz) and brother-in-law George Skalin, Nieces and nephews; Sheila Cumming (Ray), Jerry Polawski, Gayle Skalin (Laurence), Debbie Moore, Mark Skalin (Joanne), Helen (George) McDougall and the late George Skalin.
Loving Uncle to his great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephanie, Natasha, Karl, Brian, David, Laurie, Kate, George, Jessie, Alicia, Amos, Neal, Wyatt, Nell, Adrienne, and Jennifer; and great-great nieces and nephews; Ryley, Mattison, Logan, Abbigail, Teagan, Charlotte, Olivia, David, Annabelle, Ethan, and Elijah.

Olavi was born September 6, 1932, in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec, to the late Onni and Alina Sikola. He was a plumber, pipe fitter by trade and retired to Muskoka with his wife in 1992.

Olavi will be dearly missed by his family, lifelong friends, and all who knew him.

In keeping with Olavi’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will hold a celebration of life on November 12, 2023.
