Noreen McQuillan passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021 at the Pines Long Term Care with her family at her side, she was in her 96th year.
Noreen was born in Orillia but lived in Bracebridge all her life. During WW11 her father and brother were enlisted overseas fighting, so as a young girl at the age of 18 Noreen and her mother (Alice Hoover) moved to Ajax Ontario to work as CANADAS BOMB GIRLS. When the war was over, she returned to Bracebridge and started her family. Noreen as well worked for many years and was a familiar face at the local Sears Canada Catalogue office.
Noreen was predeceased by her husband Kenneth (1956) and by her father and mother Warren and Alice Hoover, also Brother Reverend Lloyd Hoover, and sister Margaret Stuart, she leaves behind her daughter Lynda Wood (Bob), Shirley Hall, and sons Ken McQuillan and Dale (Lorna). Dearly Loved by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the extra special staff at the Pines who have become part of Noreen's family. Their extraordinary care, genuine warmth and kindness is immensely appreciated and will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Lisa Friesen who was a special friend during Noreen's time at the Pines. The warmest of gratitude goes out to Dr. Kent Phillips for his years of exceptional medical care.
In light of social distancing and the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family has decided to plan a gathering of family and friends at a date to be established later in 2021.
