Nancy Beatrice Stephen

Nancy peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family at Grove Park Home, Barrie on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 86 years of age.

Loving mom of Greg (Sue) Gavarkovs and Stacey (Stephen) Hewgill. Proud Nanny of Adam (Naomi), Rob (Rachel), Will; Alex (Breann) and James (Jade). Cherished Great Grandma of Lyla. Nancy is predeceased by her parents Eldred Stephen and Hilda Longhurst of Port Carling, and brother John Robt (Jack). She is survived by brother Jamie (Barb). Nancy will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and many friends.

Nancy was a graduate of St. Michael's Hospital Nursing School, Toronto. She practiced for more than 35 years, the majority at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario. Nancy was an avid reader, lover of music, adventurous traveler, naturalist, enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Outweighing all else was her love for her family.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary St., Bracebridge on Thursday, June 11, 2026. 1:00 pm receiving friends and family, 1:30 pm for tributes, and followed by refreshments.

We want to express our appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care and compassion provided at Grove Park Home. It was truly a blessing.
