Mary Louise Olver

1932 — 2025

Bracebridge

Our cherished mother, Mary Louise Olver, passed of sudden complications at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, ON on June 23, 2025 just shy of her 93rd birthday. She was surrounded by family.

Our mother devoted most of her life to her six children, and while she faced many hardships, she always got us through with her quiet strength and unique sense of humor. She made childhood wonderful with what little she had. By necessity, she developed creative ways to sew new clothes out of old clothes, blankets and quilts. She loved to play board games and cards and, best of all, loved to laugh.

At 42, Louise learned to drive, went to college for accounting and subsequently worked in Barrie at a bank until she found work at K-Mart in the accounting department. She worked there until she retired. She made many friends while at K-Mart, many of whom she maintained a relationship with after retirement.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert Olver, as well as the beloved mother of Sal (Maggie), Terry (Pierre), Jay’ce, John (Shirley), Christine (Doug) and the late Linda (Bob). She will also be greatly missed by 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Funeral Service to take place on July 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Reynolds Funeral Home. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to cancer research or the charity of your choice in Louise’s name would be greatly appreciated.
