Maria Gourley

Maria Isilda De Abreu Gourley died peacefully on August 18, 2023 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Ken Gourley. Treasured mother to Roy Nobrega (Teresa), Elizabeth Aurora (Fernando) and Sandy Visscher (Leroy). Dear grandmother to Ayrianna Nobrega, Adam Aurora and Rui Armstrong. She leaves behind siblings Esubio Abreu, Albert Abreu, Alex Abreu, Mary Cox, Manuela Pereira, Dio Abreu and John Abreu.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 1:00pm with the funeral mass at 2:00pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bracebridge, Ontario.

Burial will follow on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00pm at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario.

Friends and family are welcome to the visitation, mass and burial.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society https://cancer.ca/en/ is greatly appreciated.

Maria was a giving and compassionate woman with a beautiful heart. Those who knew her were drawn into her warm and comforting presence. She was a momma to many. Humbly she served her family  always putting them ahead of herself because in them she found her joy. She was small in stature but her spirit was strong and mighty. She loved and lived fully. Though we will miss her dearly we will carry precious memories of her in our hearts forever. Now the good Lord has called her home. "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43
