Margaret Garvey

GARVEY, Margaret Catherine (nee Tobin) – Passed away peacefully, at her home in Midland, on Sunday, January 30, 2022, with family by her side. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday.

Margaret was the cherished mother of Janet Galbraith (Rick), Charlotte Conard, and Karen Reid (the late Glenn). She will be sadly missed by Brian Garvey, with whom she spent many happy years. Loving grandmother of Garner and Dayna Galbraith, James and Christian Reid, and Daniel Conard, she was also proud of her four great-grandchildren. Margaret was the dear sister of Geraldine Whalen and Annastasia Cliffe. She was predeceased by her siblings Aileen Wainhouse, Agnes Tobin, Edward Tobin, Evelyn Tobin, and baby Jimmy Tobin. Margaret was the eldest daughter of the late Francis and Kathaleen Tobin, of Madoc, Ontario.

Margaret always shared fond memories of growing up with her many siblings on a dairy farm and was very proud of her family's contributions to the small, close-knit community. A dedicated elementary school teacher for many years, she was loved by countless pupils in kindergarten, and grades one and two, and was always delighted when she would meet one again later in their life.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No service is planned at this time. Interment of ashes, in the family burial plot, in Madoc, is anticipated at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice and may be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
