ASKIN, Lorne Francis Died peacefully and with great courage, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Friday, January 2, 2009. Beloved partner of Diane of Bracebridge and husband of the late Sandra Askin. Loving father of Debbie Askin (Shayne), Vicki Veitch (Jim) and Scott Askin. Dear grandfather of Wendy (Chris), Derek, Justin, Jennifer and Liisa. Great grandfather of Ryley & Taylor. Son-in-law of Margaret Gordon. Brother of Ross Askin and Margaret Gwaizda. Fondly remembered by Cheryl Minty (Ted) and Susan Wilson (David) and their families. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bracebridge, on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation, attention: Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Unit, 201 Georgian Dr., Barrie, On L4M 6M2 or the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
