Linda Skinner

1950 — January 1, 2021

Port Carling

Linda Alice Skinner (February 28, 1950 to March 18, 2021) - There is simply no way to say goodbye to our beautiful, vibrant, brilliant family wizard, Linda Alice Skinner.
Loved and will be greatly missed by husband Ed Skinner, sisters Jessie Ann Mason (Jerry), Catherine Edith Lodge (Gerry), sisters-in-laws Shirley Elliott, Anne Wretham; her extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, many who have provided incredible support throughout this challenging journey. Thank you to the LHIN Muskoka organization for their guidance and amazing support throughout. Predeceased by mother Murdina Hugh McDonald, father John McDonald and brother Danny McDonald. Linda met her soul mate Ed while working at Bell Canada at 76 Adelaide in downtown Toronto in the 70’s. They married in 1974 and moved to Muskoka in 1977 when they bought Dukes in Port Carling. Linda enjoyed a successful 33 year career in Real Estate, mainly with Chestnut Park in Port Carling. Always avid travellers, once she and Ed retired, they began to travel more extensively. Topping off all other travels, the world cruise in 2016 was their ultimate dream come true for them both. Linda had a real quest for knowledge and possessed a curious nature. During winter months she volunteered her time to teach English with a community initiative in Venice, Florida. She loved Ed, family, travel, music, reading, treasured life-long friendships. A generous, beautiful, intelligent soul who possessed a wonderful wit and sense of humour. The transition to small town life in the 1970’s in her 20’s wasn’t easy for a city girl who grew up in downtown Toronto, but she wore it well and with the gentle guidance of her beloved ‘Eddie’, who had roots in Muskoka, in time, Linda fell under the Muskoka spell. Always loved, always cherished.

There will be a private service at this time. Following the funeral, a recorded link to the service will be available below. A celebration of Linda’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army donate.salvationarmy.ca, The Manna Food Bank Bracebridge mannafoodbank.ca, and to the Muskoka Women's Shelters & Services/Muskoka Interval House Bracebridge https://www.mwag.ca/ and can be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
