Leila Isobel Hynd (Jones)
November 9, 1924 – March 25, 2023
Leila passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Village in Midland at the age of 98.
She was born in Toronto to her late parents Bert and Kate Jones. Leila worked in the farm service force in Grimsby during WWII and then graduated from nursing school at The Hospital for Sick Children (class of 47) She loved life most especially her years of nursing, her church life, and the years she spent on Prince Edward Island and in Muskoka. She will be missed by the many people her life touched.
Leila met her husband John in grade school and was later married for 46 years before John passed in 2012. Left to mourn her loss are daughter Catherine Hynd of Milford Bay and son Tommy (Dec). As well as grandchildren Heidi Adams of Milford Bay, Thomas Kaufmann (Laurie) of Orillia, and Fraser Adams of Midland. She will also be missed by her great-granddaughters Hannah Adams and Nicole Adams. She will be missed as well by nephews Paul Calvert (Anita) of Caledon, Duncan Hynd of North Bay, and niece Eleanor Clark (Bruce) of Beeton. Leila is predeceased by her sister Inez Calvert and in-laws William and Christina Hynd.
Funeral Arrangements are being entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home. A Funeral Service is being held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Port Carling on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2 PM with a visitation an hour prior.
