Jean Carolyn Parsons

Our beautiful mother Jean Carolyn Parsons (Morrow) passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald Al Parsons, of 51 years.

Jean was the treasured mother of Shelly (Mark Leng), Josie (predeceased Bill Stark), Patricia (predeceased Blair Learmont) (Chess McKenzie); and Lisa (Richard Dawson). She was a fun-loving grandma to Jacob and Elnathan & Jessica (nee Smith) Learmont and Ashlyn Dawson.

Loved by surviving sister Elizabeth Morrow, sisters-in-law Sylvia Morrow, Lois Millar (Bud) and Shirley Hammond (Paul) and Aunt Betty Black.

Jean was predeceased by five siblings Margery, Peter, John, Donald and David Morrow.

She will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jean was raised in Shedden, Ontario by her parents George & Mary (McAlpine) Morrow.

She was married to Don on March 31, 1962. They purchased the Parsons family farm in Talbotville, Ontario where they raised their four daughters until moving to Muskoka in late 1979.

Jean made friends easily. She was a member of two ukulele groups, sang in the United Church choir for many years and was an avid curler.

Mom loved her family, was an exceptional gardener, a lover of music and laughter. She was a great source of comfort and wisdom.

“A light has been lost to this world”, but Mom is safe in her Father’s house perhaps having a dance with Dad.

Visitation at the Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge, on Tuesday, September 16, from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 17, at 1 pm with a light luncheon at 2 pm at Reynolds. Interment at McArthur Cemetery, 36433 2 Line, Southwold, on Thursday, September 18, at 1pm.

Memorial donations are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, your local food bank (Manna) or charity of your choice in honour of our mother, Jean.
