It is with heavy hearts the family of Jane Gordon announce her peaceful passing on March 12th, 2026, at the incredible age of ninety-nine, only 8 days shy of her 100th birthday.
Jane was the dear wife of the late Murray Gordon and a devoted mother to her five children. Jan (Jim), Judy (Kevin), Patti, Peter (pre-deceased), & John.
She was a proud and loving Grandmother to; Faye, Dana, Lauren, Matt, Dan, Nick and Ali and very proud Great Grandmother to; Claire, Emma, Jasper, Henry, Maeve, Darcy and Taylor and a very very, proud Great Great Grandmother to Silas and Shepherd. Jane enjoyed many wonderful family gatherings and always looked forward to seeing everyone.
Jane was the beloved daughter to the late Harry Conway & Darby (nee Derbyshire). She is pre-deceased by her sisters Ruth Daniel and Patricia Horbay. She is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
Jane was born and raised in Toronto. Jane and Murray re-located to Muskoka where the natural beauty of the landscape, waters (especially swamps) and rocks inspired her artwork. She instilled the beauty and appreciation of nature to her children, teaching them to listen to the birds and smell the flowers.
She is one of the founding members of the “Brown Baggers” art group. This group traveled far and wide inspiring each others creativity. Jane’s paintings adorn homes all around the world. She also received many awards through Muskoka Arts and Crafts.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at the Pines for the exceptional care given to Jane.
Cremation has taken place.
