James (Jim) Franklin Joselin of Gravenhurst, ON passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on April 28, 2026, surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Kathy Joselin (Rueger) whom he has loved since high school and his cherished daughter Michelle Joselin. Predeceased by his parents William (Bill) Joselin and Marjorie Joselin (Matthias). He is survived by his sisters, Yvonne Stewart and Brenda Matt (John), and many loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Born in Bracebridge, ON but from the family’s historic home of Matthiasville, Jim was an outdoorsman through and through and though he may not have travelled far from Muskoka he knew every back road, tiny township, good fishing spot and lost lake in the area. He was an avid hunter, fisher, small engine repairer, and jack of all trades. He spent the majority of his time in his second home – the garage – a place he built himself where family and friends (new and old) could count on him to fix just about anything, to always fill their drink, and to remind them that it “Wasn’t me!”.

Jim was known by many names: Jimbob, Jimmer, Joselstein, Rene, Jack, Golden Boy, James (but only when he was in trouble), and more. From lifelong friends he called his brothers to people who looked up to him as a father figure and role model, Jim touched the lives of so many people and leaves behind many beautiful memories.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date and all friends, family and loved ones are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, or the Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary.
