Iris Doreen Brittain

Iris Doreen Brittain, a remarkable soul cherished and loved by many, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 6, 2024, in Bracebridge, ON, at the age of 78.
 
Iris will forever be remembered for her feisty spirit, kindness, and strong work ethic. She had a special love for animals, particularly cardinals and foxes. Her love for all living creatures extended to her winters spent in Florida with her beloved partner, Peter Farah.
 
Born on March 2, 1946, in Bracebridge, family held a significant place in Iris's heart. She was adored by her late parents Alonzo and Beatrice Hammond. Iris was predeceased by her siblings Ron (Marg), Earl (Vicki), Alva (Bill), Don (Barb), Emery (Karen), Darwin (Diane), and Glenn (Brenda).
 
Iris's vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. She found joy in music and dance and emanated a warmth that drew people close to her. Her surviving family members include her cherished daughters Annette Ball, Teresa Budney, and Tina Brittain. She was a loving grandmother to Amanda Kiss, Candice Amey, Kayla Budney, Rachelle Budney, Dallas Hitchman, as well as the late Bailey Budney. Her great-grandchildren Joshlynn, Mellissa, Wrenley, and Cayson brought immense happiness to her life along with her great-great-grandchildren Jace and Niklaus.
 
In addition to her immediate family members, Iris is survived by her siblings David (Lori), Lois (Rhodes), Ruth (the late Jim), Darlene (Morris), and Gloria (Tim). The bond she shared with them was unbreakable.
 
Visitations to honor Iris will take place on June 10th at Reynolds Funeral Home - Turner Chapel in Bracebridge from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on June 12th at Baysville United Church in Baysville at 1:00 PM.
 
Iris Doreen Brittain's presence will be deeply missed but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
