Passed peacefully from this life to the next on Saturday, May 14th. Born December 24th, 1923, on the family farm on Ziska Road. She received her education in Bracebridge and at Secretarial School in Toronto.
She worked for many years at Shier’s Lumber and was a stay-at-home mom when their sons arrived. Beginning in the 1950s she served as a treasurer of Knox Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. In the 1970s she also took on the job as secretary of The Bracebridge Fair Board where she also served as President.
She was predeceased by her father Francis Lovatt and mother Doris Lovatt (nee Widdows) and her husband of 45 years David Murray Thomson.
She is survived by her sons Leon (Jo-Ann) and Douglas. She was a loving grandmother to David (Jenn), and great grandmother to Kaelie and Briauna Thomson.
At her request there will be no funeral and she will be interred at the Bracebridge Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you to make a donation to Knox Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
