Hazel Blanche Oliver (née White) December 24, 1940 – June 23, 2025

Blanche Oliver passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in her 85th year. She was a lifetime resident of Muskoka and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose quiet strength and kindness touched many.

Blanche was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Oliver (2017). She is survived by her children—Joe (Karen), Debbie (Stuart Smith), and Don (Shannon)—each of whom were a source of pride and joy for her. Her grandchildren—Victoria, Tracey, David, Alicia (Ryan), Jessica (Elnathan), Benton, Carter, and Makenna—with each holding a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters, Loretta and Avalyne. Blanche was predeceased by her siblings—Bill, Margaret, and Cora—with whom she spent her early years on Toronto Street, building the foundation of a close family life.

Blanche enjoyed her 30-year career with Canadian Tire, earning the respect and affection of her colleagues with her dedication and warmth. A devoted Elvis fan, she found joy in his music throughout her life and even made a meaningful trip to Graceland to pay tribute to the King himself. In retirement she discovered a passion for the game of golf. Blanche and her family made their home on Spencer Street for 48 years, a place that became the backdrop for countless memories. Her Monday-night bridge group, which she faithfully attended for over four decades, reflected her deep appreciation for connection, tradition, and friendship.

Blanche loved her family deeply and valued the time they spent together. Whether it was everyday moments or special gatherings, she took genuine joy in being surrounded by those closest to her.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge. A Memorial Service to honour Blanche’s life will be held at the same location on Friday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow, offering an opportunity for family and friends to gather and remember her. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Blanche’s memory are appreciated.
