May 19, 1935 – July 28, 2020

With dignity, infinite courage and a beautiful view of the Muskoka River, Hallie (Karandiuk) Thompson passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 85. She was an amazing mother to Christine and her husband, Rick Lees; Joanne and her husband, Robert Barnes; Clive Thompson and his wife, Emily Nussbaum; and a cherished Granny to Shannon (Graham), Adam (Kaity), Jamie, Ben, Samuel, Logan, Gabriel and Zev. She was overjoyed to be a Great-Granny to Maizie and James. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were dear to her.

Mom's delicious baking was famous and we will do our best to carry on her traditions! She had a great sense of humour and a practical, no-nonsense approach to life. Most importantly, she had a listening ear that provided much comfort to family and friends.

We so appreciated the wonderful care that Mom received from her health care team, especially Dr. Rix, staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and those who cared for her at home. We also want to thank her many friends on Shoreline Drive who looked out for and were very special to her.

A private graveside service for immediate family members will take place and a celebration of life held at a later date.
