Glenn Ward Kirton

Glenn Ward Kirton, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, surrounded by love and the comfort of a life well lived. Born November 10, 1929, in Loring, Ontario, he became known for his quiet strength, humour, frugal nature, and generous spirit that he maintained throughout his long and remarkable life.

Throughout the years, Glenn lived independently in his beloved home, a place that reflected his resilience, routines, and the simple comforts he treasured. From the time of his youth, Glenn was an enthusiastic and ingenious restorer of "old iron" - various forms of antique farm machinery and automobiles.

Glenn served as an Ontario Provincial Police Constable for 30 years. He was posted in Niagara Falls in 1959 and transferred to Bracebridge in 1970. His friends and family were rewarded with many heartfelt stories of humorous antics from his much loved career.

Glenn valued dearly the company of his family, friends, and pets. He was loved and admired not only by family but also by a wonderful network of friends who supported him, visited often, and enriched his life in countless ways. Just this past Thanksgiving, he enjoyed a joyful, full home gathering - an unforgettable day filled with stories, laughter, and the four generations of family he helped shape. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday December 5th, 2025, at the Lions Hall, 325 Fraserburg Road, from 11 am to 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Hospice Muskoka - Andy's House, or a charity of your choice.
