Glen William Munro

It is with heavy hearts, we share the passing of Glen Munro on August 22nd, 2026, at the age of 65, following a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Toronto, Glen spent a lot of his childhood playing with friends along the Humber River before moving to Alliston in his early adult years to start a family. Upon retirement in 2023, Glen moved to Bracebridge with his partner Deb. Glen spent his final days at Andy’s House Hospice in Port Carling, surrounded by his family and the wonderful staff.

Glen had a successful career in the insurance industry for more than twenty years before making a meaningful pivot later in life; choosing to follow his passion for working with his hands. He spent his final working years as a contractor, taking pride in every project and treating each job with the same care he gave his own home.

He loved virtually any sport, but hockey, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, were always his greatest passions. Glen will be remembered for his dry sense of humour (and an endless supply of Dad jokes), his strong work ethic, and the pride he took in caring for his home. He approached life with determination, loyalty, and a quiet warmth that made people feel at ease.

Glen is survived by his partner Deb; his son Connor and daughter‑in‑law Ashley; his mother Norma; his brother Steve and sister‑in‑law Sandra; his niece Samantha (Evan); and his nephew Dan (Alyssa). He is predeceased by his father Jim. He will also be lovingly remembered by his step‑sons Tom and Kurtis (Cindy), and he will always be “Grandpa Glen” to Harlan and Jaxon.

As per Glen’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we would invite anyone who wishes to honour his memory to consider a donation to Andy’s House Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
