Georgina (Ginny) Evelyn Metcalfe, age 67, of Bracebridge, passed away on January 22, 2026.
Born on February 20, 1958, in Toronto, Ginny lived a life defined by love, generosity, and joy. She was the beloved wife of the late Daryl James Foster, with whom she shared a life rooted in family and community.
She is survived by her son, Hunter Foster (Lindsay); her two cherished grandchildren, Jaeda and Nora; her brother, Geoff Metcalfe; and is also lovingly remembered by her companion, James Douglas. Ginny’s family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
Full of life and warmth, Ginny had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. She was always ready to lend a hand and was constantly thinking of others before herself. Her kindness knew no bounds.
One of her greatest passions was embracing her beloved role as Mrs. Claus. She dedicated countless hours to spreading joy and holiday cheer throughout the community - visiting daycare centres, retirement homes, the hospital, and community events. She also fulfilled her part-time role at the local Santa’s Village, where her infectious spirit and genuine warmth brought smiles to children and adults alike. To many, she wasn’t just playing a role - she truly embodied the magic, generosity, and heart of Mrs. Claus.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched with her compassion and joyful spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at:
