OPAVSKY, Evan David Francis

Evan passed away suddenly in Bracebridge on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at the age of 24. He was the beloved son of Amy Opavsky (Rob Thomson) of Emsdale and David Opavsky (Patricia Winslow), of Bracebridge. Cherished grandson of Gloria Dinner (John Paget) and great nephew of Dr. Robert and Jackie Ambis.
Evan was the loving nephew of Anne Opavsky, Kathy Kirkpatrick (Peter), Joe Opavsky, James Dinner (Halina) and Mike Dinner (Dianne Spencer). He will be forever missed by his cousins Maddy and Liam Kirkpatrick, Joseph and Kaleigh Opavsky, Tom Dinner (Kaylee) New Brunswick, Andrew Dinner, Toronto and Katie Dinner, Toronto. Pre-deceased by grandparents Frank and Mary Opavsky, and Joseph Dinner. His step siblings include Mary Thomson of Burk's Falls, John Thomson, Emsdale and Jennifer Thomson, Burk's Falls.
Evan spent his early years in Gravenhurst, but gradually moved into the Bracebridge school system, kindling lifelong friendships across Muskoka. As a youngster he loved the outdoors - camping, bonfires, time at the beach, days at the skatepark - and excelled at school. He was a natural playing the guitar and could entertain by the bonfire for hours with the songs he knew. Evan was a loyal friend and a hard worker, making lasting personal connections working in Muskoka and the GTA, in roles ranging from arborist assistant, to cook, to inventory coordinator in the vape industry.
To know Evan was to love him and instantly be his friend. His smile, laughter, sense of humour and sensitive nature will continue to bring warmth to all those he leaves behind.
The family will receive friends at the Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge on Friday, December 7th, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bracebridge United Church on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. As your expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health or the O.S.P.C.A.
