Elizabeth Martha Jissink passed away peacefully at the age of 53 in the early morning hours at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, ON, surrounded by family, to enter into eternal glory with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a long and brave battle with breast cancer.
Born to Menno and Martha (✝) Werkman on January 15, 1973 in Chatham, ON. Wife to John Jissink of 31 years, Mother to John Jr.,Vanessa, Brayden and Tyler. Sister to John Werkman (Jackie), Dave Werkman (Donna), Theresa Heemskerk (Bill), Leonard Werkman (Josie), Robert Werkman (Ji), Joyce Mulder (Eric), & Edward Werkman (Angelina). Beloved Aunt to many loved nieces and nephews, and their children.
For many years alongside her highschool sweetheart John, she built a beautiful loving home in which she raised and homeschooled her four children. Her love for outdoor adventures, boardgames, and puzzles brought joy to everyone she shared it with. In any gathering, you would find her surrounded by children, teaching them how to play her latest board game or an escape room she built. With a heart of service towards others, she was always there to celebrate and support those around her, knowing exactly what they needed. Her humour was unmatched, and you could always count on her for a witty response and a good laugh. Her love of detailed photography showed us of the intricate beauty of creation through her eyes. You could always find her enjoying the outdoors, whether it be kayaking, fishing, or photographing wildlife.
Psalm 23:6 - ESV
