Douglas Clarence Ross Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas C.R. Brown, aged 88, on August 20, 2025 in Bracebridge with his family by his side. A cherished husband to Helen of 62 years, devoted father of Jeff ( Dale), Linda(Jim), and Mike (Christine). Dear grandfather to Mallory, Tyler, Sarah and Matt and Great Grandpa to Sophia, Brooklyn and Brenna.

Born on May 17, 1937 in Toronto, Doug was a beloved son of Aubrey and Marjorie and loving brother to Lucille (John), Ken (Irene) & Ron (Hilda).

Following a successful career in the insurance industry he was able to enjoy over 30 years of retirement in both Muskoka and Florida. Family and friends were always a top priority as he loved spending time with people and that he had a gift to engage in a conversation with anyone and within minutes there would be an instant connection. Other passions include travel in which he took many cruises and travelled to several countries of the world. There was an actual time in which he was also the cruise organizer for his community in Florida. He was an avid sports enthusiast with his love for the Blue Jays shining through. In terms of hobbies woodworking was his true talent. If it was made out of wood, he could create it.

He lived a very full life with many accomplishments. He touched countless hearts with his kindness, wisdom and humour.

Visitation will take place from 10-11am on Friday, August 29. Funeral service at 11am at the Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street, Bracebridge, followed by a reception. Interment at Glen Orchard Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to Andy's house in Port Carling would be appreciated.
