Doug Kamachi

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Kamachi after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. He died peacefully on October 22, 2023 at RVH in Barrie at the age of 59 surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Jenn, daughters Sarah
( husband Jon Slaughter) and Megan, granddaughter Lia, brother Stephen and parents Yosh and Jean.

Doug's family came first for him. He enjoyed anything he was doing with them, whether it was travelling the world, walking the Wilson's Falls trail, or cross country skiing in Muskoka.

His passion for teaching impacted the lives of many and was equally rewarding for him.

Doug's empathy, and ability to listen and quietly lead the way made him so respected by people in all aspects of his life.

There will be a celebration of life service for Doug at the Bracebridge United Church, 46 Dominion Street, Bracebridge on Saturday, November 11th at 2 pm. It will be immediately followed by a reception at the Muskoka Highlands Golf Course where all guests can mingle.
