Davina Augustyniak January 17, 1928 - July 27, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Davina Augustyniak (nee Bolton), announce her passing on Monday July 27th, at the age of 98.

Davina was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1928 to William and Elizabeth Bolton. She was the youngest sibling to James, Margaret and Mary.

Davina was 11 years old when World War II broke out. She joined the army cadets at 16 and wore her uniform with great pride. In 1950, while at a dance, she met the love of her life and best friend, Stanley Augustyniak. They were married in 1951.

In 1954, Davina and Stan made the big decision to immigrate to Canada. They traveled on the Empress of France and landed in Nova Scotia, moved on to Sudbury and finally made Toronto their home for many years. In 1959 they welcomed a daughter into the world.

Davina held a supervisory position at Crown Life Insurance located at Bloor & Yonge. She worked in the Group Insurance Dept. for many years.

In 1965, they purchased a cottage on McKay Lake in Bracebridge. Many, many summers were spent vacationing there, along with winters riding on snowmobile trails with their good friends, Lois and Mark Kehoe.

A permanent move was made to Bracebridge in 1975. Davina quickly joined in many activities. She enjoyed a good game of euchre with the Happy Gang. She stayed active well into her 90's and looked forward to seeing her friends at the Senior's Club, Legion and Church.

Davina will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 75 years, Stan (aka John), and her daughter Dena (Marc); son-in-law Richard; Grandchildren: Jeremy; Lisa (Cody); Blair; Great Grandchildren; Kya; Brayden; Rylan; Noah. Her Granddog Willy.; And numerous family members in Europe and Canada, along with many friends in Ontario.

The family would like to thank all the staff and residents at Muskoka Shores in Gravenhurst for their care of Davina.

A private family gathering will be held.
