In Loving Memory of David Jordan Roche

November 1, 1979 – October 14, 2026

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Jordan Roche, at the age of 46. David was taken from us far too soon, following a devastating blood clot that led to heart failure. His passing was sudden, heartbreaking, and deeply unfair. There was still so much life left for him to live, so many memories left to make, and so much love left to share.

David was a truly special person whose impact reached far beyond what words can express. He was funny, kind, patient, understanding, and exceptionally intelligent. He seemed to know the answer to just about everything, earning him the affectionate title of Roslynd's personal encyclopedia. Whenever she asked him something, he would often insist, "I don't know everything, you know!" But even when he thought he didn't know the answer, he would make a guess and somehow still get it right. His intelligence was matched by his kindness, and his ability to make people laugh and feel understood was one of the many things that made him unforgettable.

Music was one of David's greatest passions. He had a remarkable talent for creating music across all genres, was an excellent piano player, and loved to sing at the top of his lungs, even when he was a little off-key. His love of music was a part of who he was, and the melodies he created, the songs he sang, and the joy he found in music will remain part of the memories cherished by those who knew him.

Above all, David loved his family deeply.

His love for his son, Chase, was beyond measure. He carried Chase's name tattooed over his heart, a permanent reminder of a love that had always lived there. David was incredibly proud of the man Chase had become, especially seeing him pursue his passion for working on cars, earn a good job doing what he loved, and save toward buying a car of his very own. His pride in Chase was immense, and his love for his son will forever be a part of his legacy.

David shared a beautiful bond with his partner, Roslynd. He was a kind and patient partner, and together they shared a companionship in which they never seemed to run out of things to talk about or grew tired of simply being together. They were building a life together, creating a home, sharing their days, and looking forward to a future that included marriage next year. David was so happy about what lay ahead, and the thought of all the years they expected to share makes his loss all the more difficult to comprehend.

Another relationship that meant a great deal to David was the special bond he shared with his mother-in-law, Wendy, who loved him as though he were her own son. After losing both of his parents within a year of each other, this relationship became especially meaningful to David. Wendy was not simply his mother-in-law; she was someone with whom he shared a deep connection, a sense of belonging, and a very special kind of love.

David and Wendy were remarkably alike. They shared the same sense of humour, were equally clumsy and forgetful, and took great delight in teaming up against Roslynd whenever they got the chance. Wendy would often look at David and ask, "Are you my son?" because of just how much the two of them had in common. Their shared laughter, playful mischief, and unmistakable connection created memories that will be treasured forever. The love between them was genuine and deep, and the bond they shared will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved them both.

David also leaves behind his two beloved fur babies, Dan and Floofy, the cats he loved so dearly. They were a cherished part of his family and the home he shared with Roslynd. Their place in his heart was unmistakable, and they were part of the little everyday joys that made their house a home.

One of the last memories Roslynd will hold close to her heart is from their final night together. They spent the night watching a movie, something they had not been able to do for months because they had been without a television. It was an ordinary, quiet evening in their new home, surrounded by the life they had been building together, including their beloved cats. Out of nowhere, David turned to her and said, "I'm so lucky."

Roslynd laughed and asked him why, and he replied, "For all of this, you, our new house, and the cats, I'm just so lucky."

Those words have become a treasured memory, a final glimpse of David's happiness and gratitude for the life they shared. He had so much to look forward to, and he knew how much he cherished what he had. Roslynd will carry those words with her always.

David is reunited in heaven with his beloved mother, Barbara Roche, and father, Nicholas Roche, and will be laid to rest alongside them. He leaves behind his loving partner, Roslynd; his son, Chase; his stepchildren, Andrea and Aiden; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wendy and Jeff; and his two cherished cats, Dan and Floofy, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.

David was loved by so many, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him. Though his life was cut devastatingly short, the love he gave, the laughter he brought, the music he created, and the memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

There should have been more time. More conversations, more music, more laughter, more ordinary evenings together, and more years to share the future he was so looking forward to. While we cannot understand why he was taken from us so soon, we can hold on to the love he gave us and the memories that will never be taken away.
