Barbara Lorraine Kingshott (Greer) passed away May 15, 2021 with her husband and two children by her side. Barb was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Thomas Bruce Kingshott, two children, Jason (Dawn) and Tanya Bree (Robert), and four grandchildren Bria, Kayla, Rory and Ruby Jane, brother Jim Greer (Geri) and family, sister-in-law Susan Greer and family, and mother-in-law Marion Kingshott. Predeceased by parents Arnold and Betty Greer (Pickles), father-in-law Chester Kingshott, and brother Ken Greer.
Barb was born September 3, 1952 in Scarborough, Ontario. She met Bruce at the docks in Windermere, Ontario in 1966 and they were married January 15, 1972. Barb graduated from Georgian College and worked as an RNA for over 25 years at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
Barb loved the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed the outdoors including snowshoeing, ATVing, ice-fishing, kayaking, swimming and relaxing on the dock with friends and family.
Barb had an unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. She was active with her grandkids playing in the water, competing in diving contests, catching fish from the paddleboat, tobogganing, hiking, skiing and paddle boarding.
Barb taught us many things. Most importantly, she taught us the value of family. In lieu of flowers or donations, we feel that the best way to honour Barb’s life is to spend some extra quality time with your family this summer doing an activity you love, preferably outside, as that is what she would have wanted.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Royal Victoria Hospital for making the last few days of her life as comfortable as possible. In accordance with Barb’s wishes, she has been cremated and a celebration of life will take place in the summer.
Barbara will be greatly missed by all.
