In Loving Memory of (Alan) Clive Thorne

November 26, 1930 – January 28, 2026

Clive Thorne passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026 at the age of 95 at Andy's House in Port Carling. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith, with whom he shared over 60 years of love and companionship. Clive is lovingly remembered by his brother, Graham (Iris); his daughter, Deirdre (Tony); his son, Chris; and his cherished grandchildren: Teresa (Simon), Leanne, Sarah (Kevin), Katarina (Jon), and Kevin. He was also a proud great-granddad to Mayson, Santiago, and Mia, who brought him great joy.

Clive spent his career as a skilled tool and die maker, taking pride in his craftsmanship and precision. A true machinist at heart, he carried this passion into many of his hobbies, including building and flying fixed and rotary winged remote-control aircrafts, constructing a steamboat including all the working internals of the engine, and working on countless mechanical projects.

He was an avid reader who loved poetry and novels, a dedicated cyclist in his younger years and well into his mid-80s, and a passionate sailor. Above all, Clive treasured time spent with his family and was known for insisting on his tea being served piping hot, just the way he liked it. Clive will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to connect with everyone he met. He was deeply loved and returned that love generously, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A celebration of Clive’s life will be held in the summer. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Andy’s House Hospice of Muskoka.

Clive’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
