 | Bruce Turner, President/Managing Director Email: turner@muskoka.com Toll Free Phone: 877-806-2257 Office Phone: 705-645-2257 Fax: 705-645-5664 Bruce began his career in funeral service in 1966 at The Murphy Funeral Home (formerly Hattin Funeral Home) in Pembroke, Ontario while still attending Pembroke Collegiate Institute. After graduating high school in June 1968 he became an "Articled Student" at The Pethick Funeral Home In Barrie and moved to Bracebridge in December of that year where he joined Murray Dauphin, Owner and Managing Director of Reynolds' Funeral Home Ltd. where he completed his apprenticeship in September 1970. In June of 1971 he left Reynolds Funeral Home and in September of that year joined the staff of McArthur Brothers and MacNeill Funeral Directors in Cornwall, Ontario returning to Reynolds' Funeral Home in September 1972. On December 1st, 1994, Bruce and his wife Cathie purchased Reynolds' Funeral Home Ltd. from Murray and Joan Dauphin. The Dauphin's had purchased the funeral home from Walter and Betty Reynolds in 1967. The firm can trace it's history through various owners back to the early 1890's. In the early 2000's the name "Turner Chapel" was added. Bruce is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge - Muskoka Lakes. Bruce and Cathie have one married daughter and two grandchildren who live nearby. |

She was born in East York then moved to Newfoundland returning to Toronto in the mid 1960's. Cathie grew to adulthood in Ajax before be transferred around by the CIBC finally landing in Bracebridge in 1981. In 1996 she left finance to attend the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College graduating with honours and receiving her Funeral Director's Licence in 1998. If we were a large corporation Cathie would be considered the Chief Financial Officer. In addition to her other duties Cathie is also a "Funeral Celebrant". She has received training that enables her to conduct "services" for folks who do not have a formal church connection or prefer a more informal secular service. This service has been well received by many of the families we serve. Cathie was the President of the "Ontario Funeral Service Association" for 2010 - 2011. This is a voluntary Association of independent and family owned funeral homes in the Province of Ontario. She is also a former member of The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation Board and served as Treasurer of St. Thomas Anglican Church for a number of years. For a number of years Cathie was a Rotarian serving in both the Bracebridge and then the Bracebridge - Muskoka Lakes Clubs. Cathie also enjoys golf and is a member of the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club in Bracebridge. She is married to Bruce and very much enjoys being "Nanny" to her two grandchildren. |

He graduated from Humber College and obtained his Funeral Director's Licence in 1980. Ben then moved to Calgary for a short time before returning to Ontario where he joined Reynolds Funeral Home in July 1981. He loves to hunt and fish and is an avid golfer and curler at South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club where he is a member. Not the least of his hobbies and talents is carving and woodworking at which he is very skilled. Ben and his wife Cindy have two grown sons and three grandsons all living in Bracebridge. Ben is highly respected by the families he helps to negotiate the work of greiving. |

He started his career with us in May of 1996 after completing year one of the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College. He finished his second year as an intern with us and then successfully completed the Board of Funeral Services licensing examinations and received his Funeral Director's Licence in 1997. Darren is an excellent funeral director and highly regarded by the families he serves. His major hobby is golf and he spends as much time on the course as he possibly can in the months that don't have snow in them. He also is a member of the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club |

She originally came from Burlington but most recently lived in Orillia before moving to Bracebridge in the spring of 2009. She graduated from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College, serving her internship here and receiving her Funeral Director's Licence in 2010. Cheryl is highly regarded by the families she assists and is proving to be a valuable member of our team. Cheryl is an amazing quilter who does fantastic "Applique" quilts. She also loves to fish and is a hockey "nut" who loves to watch junior hockey. Cheryl was involved with Scouts Canada when she lived in Orillia and is hoping to return to assisting with this noble cause. |
